One of the focuses for RippleAfrica Trust Foundation is technology, and this led us to teach the beneficiaries from our waste-to-wealth project some basic e-commerce knowledge. As part of our efforts to equip beneficiaries with the skills needed to grow and sustain their waste conversion business, they were taught what e-commerce is and how to navigate the e-commerce website that was created for them. Part of the things taught includes the importance and benefits of an e-commerce website in the 21st century, how it positively affects a business, how to navigate the website from an admin perspective, editing products information, managing orders, payment management- understanding payment gateways, monitoring completed and pending payments, etc.
This new knowledge and hands-on experience have empowered the beneficiaries to confidently manage their online platform without constant support from RippleAfrica Trust Foundation. By strengthening their digital skills, we are helping them become more independent in the day-to-day operations of their businesses while positioning them for greater opportunities in the digital marketplace.
So, we urge all our readers to log on to the website and purchase 5 or 15 items from our beneficiaries. We promise that when you see these goods, you will argue on the possibility that nylon and sachet water wrappers were used to make them. That argument means our joy is complete and our goal achieved- having these goods stand toe-to-toe with other items in the market.
