On July 31, 2024, the Rippleafrica Trust Foundation successfully executed a Women Empowerment Programme in the Poulosa community of Suleja. This initiative aimed to empower local women by providing them with valuable skills and financial support to foster self-sufficiency and economic growth within the community.
The primary objectives of the programme were:
- To provide practical skills training in soap making, bead making, and tie and dye.
- To empower women with the knowledge and tools needed to start their own businesses.
- To foster economic independence and improve the livelihoods of women in the Poulosa community.
- Thirty women from the Poulosa community were selected to participate in the programme.
These women were eager to learn new skills and enhance their economic opportunities.
The training was divided into three categories: soap making, tye and dye and bead making.
The training sessions were intensive and hands-on, ensuring that each participant gained practical experience and confidence in their newly acquired skills.
Upon completing the training, each woman was provided with a cash capital from the Rippleafrica Trust Foundation. This financial support was intended to help them kickstart their own small businesses using the skills they had learned. This critical step ensured that the women could immediately apply their new knowledge and generate income.
